About the Position | Lethbridge College has been conducting applied research in agriculture for more than 30 years. Fundamental to Lethbridge College’s vision of leading and transforming education in Alberta, the Centre for Applied Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CARIE) is a catalyst for economic growth, sustainability, and social development in the region. Our dedicated researchers and state-of-the-art facilities enable pre-commercial validation for commercial application in agriculture and agri-food in the areas of integrated food production systems, irrigation science, and post-harvest technology. Reporting to the Director Applied Research Operations in CARIE, the Research Lab Compliance Specialist provides operational support to the applied research teams and projects in the Agriculture Research and Innovation Building. This employee oversees and coordinates the day-to-day operations of complex, highly technical laboratory spaces. These labs include, but are not limited to: analytical chemistry labs, grain testing lab, soil hydraulic and yield analysis lab, and soil prep lab. They provide expert guidance, technical oversight, and support to the users of the laboratories. They work closely with the applied research chairs and CARIE operational/administrative staff to deliver quality applied research services to clients and research collaborators in accordance with policies, procedures, and agreements. This is a temporary position with the possibility of extension. |
