About the Position
The Invigilator, reporting to the Coordinator, Testing Services, is responsible for assisting with testing operations for CELPIP testing. CELPIP tests are completed on computer, and because they are used as proof of English language proficiency for immigration or employment purposes, they are considered high stakes exams with strict security requirements. Weekend shifts are required (primarily Saturdays), and some shifts may require overtime hours (i.e., greater than 7 hours long).
Position Details
To effectively invigilate a CELPIP test session, Invigilators must be able to demonstrate the utmost degree of professionalism and integrity, while maintaining precise attention to detail. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

  • Understanding and enforcing security and privacy requirements;
  • Preparing test site for test sessions and cleaning up afterwards;
  • Assisting with equipment checks and test start-up prior to the test;
  • Verifying candidate identities;
  • Using various software and hardware during registration, including using a webcam to photograph each candidate, scanning IDs, etc.;
  • Observing candidate activity to ensure no unauthorized communication or materials are used;
  • Assisting candidates with exam questions and technical issues;
  • Escorting candidates to and from test location;
  • Enhanced cleaning/disinfecting of exam stations and other shared materials.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of post-secondary education
  • Prior experience in examination supervision is an asset
  • Strong technical skills required with demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and various computer hardware (e.g., webcams, microphones, headphones)
  • Ability to work precisely with meticulous adherence to security and privacy guidelines
  • Demonstrated responsibility and integrity in situations requiring confidentiality
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
Salary AUPE Class Level 2 Step 1 $17.08 per hour; plus 10.8% in lieu of vacation time, as well as weekend shift differential or overtime pay as appropriate
