About the Position
Position Details
The Summer Camp Assistant will support delivery of summer camps. In undertaking this work, the employee will:
  • Support registration and intake processes
  • Respond to general inquiries
  • Coordinate with camp leaders to prepare camp schedules
  • Coordinate with camp leaders to plan for camp activities, including activities, games, crafts, experiments and more
  • Maintain camper records and personal information with discretion
  • Assemble information packages for camp leaders (procedures, schedules, locations, contacts)
  • Supervise campers during non-instructional times and provide additional instructional support for when needed
  • Monitor camper medications, as directed by parents
  • Identify and purchase supplies for Inventory of supplies for summer camps
  • Work within a budget to purchase supplies
  • Daily check in and check out management
  • Communicate with supervisors about any issues arising during delivery
Required Qualifications
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Post-secondary study in the education or youth-related fields
  • Flexibility to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Organized and with an attention for detail
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle access
  • Fun and creative
  • Successful candidate will be required to provide criminal record and vulnerable sector check prior to start date
Preferred Qualifications
  • First Aid and CPR is considered an asset.
Salary AUPE Class Level 1 Step 1 $16.25/hr
